A private car kills a school teacher

A School teacher was run over by a private car

A school teacher named Abdul Basheed Sarkar (38) was killed when he was hit by a private car at Salanga in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj.

The accident took place on the Bogra-Pabna highway at around 10:30 am on Wednesday (July 14) in the Patdhari area under Salanga police station.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Basheed Sarkar, son of late Osman Gani Sarkar of Horganti village under Nalka union of Raiganj upazila.

He is an assistant teacher at Sirajganj Government BL High School.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahjahan Ali said Abdul Basheed was going to Ullapara on a motorcycle from Hatikumrul Roundabout in the morning.

On the way, a private car crushed him in a jute-laden area and he quickly fled. He fell off the motorcycle and died on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body from the spot and handed it over to the family after completing the legal process.
