DU admission test from October 1
Considering the ongoing Corona situation in the country and announcing a 14-day strict lock-down after Eid, the admission test of Dhaka University for the academic year 2020-21 is being postponed. The admission test was supposed to start from July 31. However, the deans committee of the university has recommended to start the examination from October 1.
An emergency meeting of the DU’s Deans Committee on Tuesday (July 13th) afternoon recommended postponing the exams. The meeting started at 3:30 pm and was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. University Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor ASM Maqsood Kamal confirmed the postponement.
He said the decision to postpone the test was taken considering the current situation. In this situation admission test could not be conducted in any way. We don’t want to do anything at the risk of students ’lives. There is also the issue of safety of our teachers.
Professor ASM Maqsood Kamal said, “According to the new decision, our admission test will start from October 1. This time we have announced the date a little late. As if it doesn’t have to change anymore. Admission test of science faculty will be held on October 1.
He further said that the admission test of the Faculty of Arts will be held on October 2, the day after the examination of the Faculty of Science. The written (drawing) examination of the Faculty of Fine Arts will be held on October 9, then the admission test of the Faculty of Commerce will be held on October 21 and the last admission examination of the Faculty of Social Sciences will be held on October 23.
